  • Integrated manufacturing creates an environment of intelligent development

SHOWA’s Research and Development is comprised of three collaborative teams; one focused on materials, one for knitting technologies, and one that has an expertise in hand mold or former design. One of our many differentiators is our ability to develop a product from the hand mold, to the manufacturing line, internally. We are masters at designing and shaping a hand mold to achieve very specific designs of hand protection. We maintain a level of uniqueness by our ability to use a multitude of different materials in any suitable manufacturing environment.

A team focus is to evaluate different market trends, analyze market research developed by our global marketing teams, and utilize this information to get ahead of the competition and challenge our boundaries. We also are focused on feedback from our sales professionals, and our customer base. This is an area that remains an important part of our overall process.

  • Provide expertly prepared responses to customer feedback and to reinforce our commitment to providing high-level protective products.

We are professional researchers and, at the same time, we have to think about usability of our products through the feedback of the user. By embracing the view of the user, we form a deeper connection with product which inspires our work to always meet our user’s demand.

  • SHOWA is a global organization, and while we are dominate in Japan, we have major business units in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

We strive to develop hand protection that meets global standards and demand. But, we also embrace “glocalization” in our process. Which means we, at times, must serve regional needs due the difference in cultural preferences around the world. We strategize globally, but we keep one eye on regional markets to continue the expansion of our market share.
